What do you mean by URL

URL means uniform resource locator. It tells us which page is called, where it is located and how it can be accessed. It has three parts.

- The protocol
- DNS (domain name system)
- Local name specifying the specific page.
- Some of URL’s are: gopher, FTP, telnet, HTTP

E.g. http://www.site.com/fun/file.html
