What is Web Browser

A program used to view, download, upload, surf or otherwise access documents (pages) on the World Wide Web. Web browser is the program that one uses to view and test the HTML documents. They translate HTML encoded files into text, images, sound and other features. The hyperlink is known as web browser. For accessing the data from the Internet, user requires an interface, which links the computer and human being where user can give his request and interact with other computers. For this purpose we use special software, which is known as web browser. Web browsers are of two types:

Text: Those web browsers who are used only for text mode are known as text web browsers.e.g LYNX

Graphical: Those web browsers, who can be used for text, sound, graphical animation mode is known as graphical web browser. There are many types of graphical web browser. There are many types graphical web browser. These are Internet Explorer, Netscape Navigator, MOSAIC etc

How a web browser communicates with web server

A web server is responsible for sending web pages to a browser on a client. When a browser communicates with a web server, it results into three steps HTTP transaction:
To establish a connection.
Client issues or sends a request and server sends response
